Gateway ARR - Year 7 Middle Years Diploma (MYD) Assessment, Recording and Reporting (ARR) Guidelines for Parents

How do I view my child's ongoing subject assessments using the Gateway?

Step 1.

Go to the web address https://wis.tg.esf.edu.hk.

Step 2.

You will be greeted by a login screen. There are three types of users in the Gateway system.

  1. Staff
  2. Students
  3. Parents

To view full online assessment you will need to login using the Parent Username supplied to you by the school. In the top right of the screen you will see the message “Welcome (Family Name) Family”. This indicates you are logged in to the Gateway as a parent.

Step 3.

If you have successfully logged in to the Gateway using your Parent User Name, click the link called ARR in the top menu. Click ARR Report to open the Gateway Online Assessment Module.

Step 4.

You will be presented with a list of the subjects that you child currently studies as part of the MYD in Year 7. Subjects with completed assessments will be identified by an invitation to “View”. Please note that, due to the varied nature of assessment tasks, and the inherent differences in learning involved in some lessons, student assessment data may not appear for viewing in all subjects at the same time. That said, as a guideline, all subjects will complete and record assessment data for access through the Gateway by the following deadlines:

31st October, 2011

1st MYD subject assessments recorded on the Gateway.

27th February, 2012

2nd MYD subject assessments recorded on the Gateway.

31st May, 2012

3rd and 4th MYD subject assessments recorded on the Gateway.

In addition, students and tutors will complete online reflections in relation to extracurricular participation, dynasty involvement and skills development by the following deadlines:

12th Dec, 2011

1st student reflection recorded on the Gateway.

4th June, 2012

2nd student reflection recorded on the Gateway. Tutors record end of year reflections on the Gateway.

The image below shows a typical subject assessment. If you see a blank assessment, try first to select the current term (Term 1) from the drop down options at the top of the assessment. If you are still faced with a blank assessment it is possible that the teacher has not made the report active for viewing yet.

Step 5.

Click view to open each subject assessment. Below is a typical example of an Assessment page once it is opened.

Printing Reports

At the end of the academic year in June we will make a printable transcript of your child's assessment details available. To view the transcript, please click the Printing tab then select the Academic year (e.g. 11/12) and Y07 ARR Template. Click the Print button to view/print the report.
